Charles Dickens
Charles John Huffam Dickens was born in Portsmouth , England , on the 7th February, 1812, was son of de John Dickens and Elizabeth Barrow. Dickens was the most famous English novelist of the Victoria era for introducing his concerns for social reforms. He is, even now, popular and his books are published nowadays.
From humble roots, Charles Dickens was forced to work in a factory, when he was a teenager. Later he got a job in a lawyer office and afterwards he became a journalist. When he was twenty-six years old he became a successful writer with his book The Pickwick Papers. His novels were published in fascicles.
Charles Dickens died in 1870 because of a disease.
In his novels, the author talks about politics and the social problems. Dickens connects romance and his ideals in amazing books that catch the eye of the reader.
Charles Dickens influenced the cinema, the literature and the English language. Some words very common today were firstly used in his novels. A Christmas Carol is extremely well-known and was adapted to cinema, TV, theatre and comics.
